Wing Spar Limits Refer amendment 2.03
Each Competitor may build, acquire or otherwise obtain a maximum of six Wing Spar sections, provided: Refer amendment 4.03
(a) any Wing Spar section less than 12m in length that is part of a wing whose length from mast base to wing top is less than 22m, is not counted in this limit; Refer amendment 11.01
(b) a Wing Spar section is included in this limit when the Competitor or its representative takes delivery of the section; and Refer amendment 5.05
(c) a Wing Spar section shall be deemed to be new if more than 50% of its mass is replaced. Refer amendment 5.05
(d) A wing spar extension for a AC45 Yacht acquired by a competitor from ACRM and used solely on an AC45 Yacht shall not for the purposes of Article 29.6 constitute a wing spar section. Refer amendment 11.02

Avenant numero 1 : une grande aile et une petite aile...
The sum of the distance from MWP to the wing rotation point, and the distance from the wing rotation point measured parallel to the wing datum to:
(a) C12 (per appendix D), shall not be greater than 40.000 m for the tall wing.
(b) C9 + 0.500 m (per appendix D), shall not be greater than 32.700 m for the short wing.

AC72 art 10.3 : Further to Protocol Article 29.6, the Wing Spar shall be capable of being disassembled into two separate sections.
The lower Wing Spar section shall be at least 18.000 m, and no more than 19.900 m in length. For the purposes of this rule, fittings shall not be considered part of the Wing Spar.

An AC72 Yacht shall be capable of being assembled and disassembled by a Competitor as follows:
(a) within 24 hours, wings shall be disassembled and packed in shipping boxes of the following outside dimensions:
(i) one box of 20.000 m x 5.000 m x 2.500 m;
(ii) additional boxes that will collectively fit within 5.000 m x 1.500 m x 19.000 m no one of which shall be larger than 5.000 m x 1.500 m x 9.500 m;
Alors deux hypotheses s'affrontent :
1/ La 'grande aile' peut devenir 'petite aile' en enlevant des elements du haut, et en capelant l'etai un peu plus bas.
2/ il s'agit de 2 ailes differentes
Oui, mais alors comment on fait une petite aile de 32,7m avec des sections de 18m au minimum ?
Sans attendre la réponse, disons...
=> 6 sections, 2 sections par aile, 3 ailes possibles, dont la petite et une aile en réserve, certainement construite au dernier moment après avoir observé la concurrence...
=> dans le cas 1/ ci-dessous, une section d'economisée pour la petite aile (on garde le bas, on enlève le haut)
ding dong... on va dire que cette premiere aile "Made in NZ" a de fortes chances de faire plusieurs fois le tour de la planète !

En attendant, (et désolé pour le Hors Sujet) on ne sait toujours pas si l'aile d'Artemis a explosé en plein vol ? plus de 50% à refaire ?
